Do you enjoy working with your hands, have a good sense of aesthetics, and want to take charge of your own destiny? Or are you learning carpentry under the guidance of a family elder or someone engaged in the field?
If you fall in either of these categories or both, nothing will come close to formally training yourself for a rewarding career in the carpentry trade.
With disposal incomes on the rise and construction activity also gaining momentum in both rural and urban India, including Himachal Pradesh, coupled with an increasing willingness among buyers to pay more for tasteful home and kitchen furniture as well as offices, there couldn’t have been a better time than now to become a skilled carpenter or furniture fitter.
Furniture manufacturers and marketing companies, home décor outlets, and interior design stores are expanding operations nationwide to take advantage of the trend of furniture items being bought to make a style statement. In the process, these organizations are creating more employment opportunities for trained and certified carpenters and fitters in the furniture segment.
Rapid career mobility has also become a given in the furniture sector. Employers have become more open to the idea of creating attractive salary differentials between skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled staff.
This will naturally lead to a large requirement of trained manpower both nationally and also within Himachal Pradesh.

Your income doesn’t need to stop when you turn 58 or 60 which is the normal retirement age associated with most professions.
You can start your own outlet, become self-employed, explore opportunities of becoming a supplier to a furniture marketing company, and experience the thrill of not having any limits set on your earnings that is usually the case with salaried employment.
